Avidan is the Founding Partner of Root Ventures. Before Root, he designed industrial robotics for Food Network's kitchens. Prior to that, Avidan was CTO of CIM Group, where he focused on industrial internet investing, and worked as an embedded application developer at Excite@Home. Away from work, Avidan spends time cooking, glassblowing, and working on his new book about coffee around the world. Avidan has a BA in Computer Science from Columbia University.
Prior to joining Root Ventures, Kane founded and was Head of Product at Brilliant Bicycle Co. He has also worked as an early stage investor at RRE Ventures, a software engineer at Romotive, and a Project Manager at Microsoft. Outside of work, he restores vintage film cameras and trawls Kickstarter for indie video games. Kane has an AB in Computer Science from Harvard.
Rajan co-invented and led the development of the Embrace baby incubator, an ultra low-cost medical device that has saved the lives of over 200,000 babies across 14 developing countries. At Embrace, he also led a regional sales team in the Indian state of Gujarat. Rajan has a BS in Biomechanical Engineering and an MBA, both from Stanford.
Before joining Root Ventures, Laelah spent over 15 years in marketing for films, consumer products, and subscription-based services. Outside of work, Laelah an avid kickballer and board gamer. Laelah Reino has a BA in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration from Drexel University.
